First Things First…
As soon as you begin your planning journey you need a starting place. Here is a Priority Checklist for you and your partner to work through. You have to sit down together, and maybe you need to include your families to see what everyone expects. What is most important to you and what is least important to you. This is how you know what to plan for and what to budget for. If a live band is very important, but flowers are not, then you will look into putting more money into booking the live band of your dreams and possibly have only candles on the tables. Flowers will be reserved for something else, or you might decide to get extra creative and not use flowers at all.
This is the same for a Quinceañera, you need to know what is important and where to put the budget. I know a lot of families have sponsors that will cover different items, but you still need to know what is important and what is not. This really helps in the planning process and gives you direction. If you are creating this list for a Quinceañera, let her also have a say on what is important to her as well as what is important to you, as the family.
If you are working with a Planner from the beginning then it helps your Planner find vendors that fit what you are looking for in style and budget. There are a lot of unexpected outcomes in planning and a Planner can help you navigate all of it.
Below is the link to the list. It is a good idea to print out two copies, one for each of you. Rank your Most Important to Least Important and then compare your answers. If you see a glaring difference then Congratulations…it’s and opportunity to learn how to work together and compromise. Working through Planning decisions can be challenging, but it is a great opportunity to learn how to work together in future decisions.
